Wedding Season is Just About Here!

Wedding season is coming up! I have these adorable hankies on sale until the end of the month! These would make a cherished gift for the bride. It's something New and Blue! And something that will be a keepsake forever.

This elegant lace handkerchief is embroidered with the bride and groom's first names and date of their wedding in blue. Other colors can be chosen. Then the hankie is dressed up in this adorable card stock bodice, hanging sweetly on a tiny hanger with a ribbon sash.

Grape Vine Birthday Card

Inspired by Sonya at Appel Quilling Garden I have come to love making cards with grape vines!

I made this card for my aunt for her birthday. She loves different kinds of wine and I thought this would be a nice card for her.

By the way... Sonya is giving her Twirled Paper class again at My Creative Classroom. I would highly recommend it! It was an awesome class.

Pink Posies and Pearls, Add Some Butterflies!

Just a quick post before we head out to Arizona for a week! Where it's warm! And no snow!

I did this birthday card for my sister in law using pink cardstock, embossed with butterflies using my new butterfly embossing folder! The edges are distressed a bit but this picture doesn't do that part of the card justice. I punched some small flowers and put pearls as their centers and added a few quilled scrolls. Then I quilled the butterfly and added some pearls and gems.

I am working on another quilled birthday card but it won't be ready until we return from the warm weather!

Warning! Holiday Cards Everywhere!

This year I've decided to make all my own Holiday cards, and I say Holiday cards because I need to do both Christmas and Hanukkah.

I have a Silhouette SD cutter and a Texture Boutique embosser. These make things so much easier for me. Here are some of the cards I've made so far. Oh... and Leo has been a big help! (Read all about Leo HERE.)

I'm finding my style is rather simple and clean. I am not crazy about all the coloring and images and fluff, although there is something to be said for a few pearls or a piece of ribbon here and there.

That being said, here are some of my favorites so far.



These were all fairly simple to make. I am using supplies I have on hand other than the Christmas and Hanukkah paper. And the day after Thanksgiving Silhouette had their cut files on sale for fifty cents each so I scored!

These are my favorite Hanukkah cards so far.

This Weeks Quilling Class!

Well I'm a little behind this week, but if you haven't yet checked out My Creative Classroom, they have some pretty awesome classes!

My Quilling Nest

I have come to love quilling! But I'm sure I'm not very good at it. Well imagine my surprize when I found this class at My Creative Classroom!

The first week we did basic open and closed coils. My daughter helped me make this out of the shapes we learned to make. It turned out cute.

The class homework assignment was this great card! I think mine turned out well! I do know that my coils look much better than my originals (read that 'before class') lol

 

The center scallop and oval is left blank because I am not sure what I will be using this card for. When I figure it out, I will stamp the sentiment on the white oval with blue ink and maybe add some crystals.

So... I had these cards listed on etsy. They get lots of views, but no sales. I thought they could use some sprucing up with some quilled flowers. What do you think? I like the new ones better!!

Quilled Baby Cards

Well a few months ago I got hooked on quilling! I don't know where I saw it but it just intrigues me to make things out of little pieces of paper.

I've been watching lots of quilling blogs and found one with a challenge. So even though I'm really new at this, I thought I'd enter just for fun. Especially since the challenge is for baby cards and I've done 2 in the last few weeks for friends!

This was for a friend who had a baby girl. My favorite is the little yellow duckie!













And as you can see, this was for a friend who had a boy!My teen says the baby head and arm in the carriage look like blobs, not a baby!

Just remember, these are some of the first few cards I've made so I still have a lot to learn!

Like get double sided tape, and don't use glue dots because they leave dents!
